Dartmour: Demo I – The Barrier Of Belstone
A faint hum. A scorched ritual circle. And a village, utterly still.
You awaken near the silent village of Belstone, its people vanished and its purpose forgotten. Strange forces linger—unseen, but felt.
Dartmour is a medieval fantasy RPG inspired by Daggerfall and Gothic, focused on eerie exploration, grounded combat, and atmosphere over exposition. This standalone demo offers a short, immersive slice of the full game’s world.
Features
- Atmospheric Exploration
Traverse the village of Belstone—eerily abandoned, yet marked by signs of recent life. Search ruined homes and overgrown paths for fragments of what came before, and follow quiet clues toward something left unfinished. - Grounded Melee Combat
Fight stranded orcs with nothing but a rusted blade. Combat is deliberate and dangerous—every swing drains stamina, and survival means managing your energy carefully. - Resource-Based Recovery
Regain stamina by resting near warmth, sleeping in abandoned beds, or finding scraps of food. Limited healing potions offer rare moments of reprieve. - Three Distinct Playstyles
Choose from three cultural backgrounds at the start of your journey—each with their own passive bonuses and drawbacks. These shape how you experience the world and handle its dangers - A World That Speaks Without Words
There are no dialogue trees, XP counters, or quest markers here. The story is told through what you find, what you piece together, and what the world quietly reveals.
This demo is not a showcase of features—it’s an invitation into the atmosphere and tone of Dartmour. Developed using Godot 4.4.
